PFA(S)[S] and Locally Compact Normal Spaces
We examine locally compact normal spaces in models of form PFA(S)[S], in particular characterizing paracompact, countably tight ones as those which include no perfect pre-image of ω1 and in which all separable closed subspaces are Lindelöf.
متن کاملOn the Hereditary Paracompactness of Locally Compact, Hereditarily Normal Spaces
We establish that if it is consistent that there is a supercompact cardinal, then it is consistent that every locally compact, hereditarily normal space which does not include a perfect pre-image of ω1 is hereditarily paracompact. This is the fifth in a series of papers ([LTo], [L2], [FTT], [LT], [T1] being the logically previous ones) that establish powerful topological consequences in models ...
متن کاملContinuous images of big sets and additivity of s 0 under CPA prism
We prove that the Covering Property Axiom CPAprism, which holds in the iterated perfect set model, implies the following facts. • There exists a family G of uniformly continuous functions from R to [0, 1] such that |G| = ω1 and for every S ∈ [R] there exists a g ∈ G with g[S] = [0, 1]. • The additivity of the Marczewski’s ideal s0 is equal to ω1 < c. 1 Preliminaries and axiom CPAprism Our set t...
متن کاملApplications of the Covering Property Axiom
Applications of the Covering Property Axiom Andrés Millán Millán The purpose of this work is two-fold. First, we present some consequences of the Covering Property Axiom CPA of Ciesielski and Pawlikowski which captures the combinatorial core of the Sacks’ model of the set theory. Second, we discuss the assumptions in the formulation of different versions of CPA. As our first application of CPA ...
متن کاملCovering Property Axiom CPAcube and its consequences
In the paper we formulate a Covering Property Axiom CPAcube, which holds in the iterated perfect set model, and show that it implies easily the following facts. (a) For every S ⊂ R of cardinality continuum there exists a uniformly continuous function g:R → R with g[S] = [0, 1]. (b) If S ⊂ R is either perfectly meager or universally null then S has cardinality less than c. (c) cof(N ) = ω1 < c, ...
